About FIRST

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 and was created to inspire the young people to have an interest in science and technology by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

Team 5103 Creation

Team 5103, the Jaegernauts, was born in Fall 2013 at Memorial Early College High School.  MECHS is a part of Comal ISD, a rural school district encompassing 589 square miles of Central Texas between Austin and San Antonio.  Our  school has a Technology and Engineering class in which our team meets to discuss, design, and build our robot during build season.  During off season, we participate in other activities within the objectives of FIRST.

 

Mission Statement

Through participating in FRC and supportive STEM programs, we hope to inspire students both young and old. With the experience our program provides, our participants develop leadership and teamwork skills, and have the opportunity to apply them to real world situations.
