Build Season Summary

Week One: The team attended Kickoff, and then returned to the campus to take inventory of the kit and begin reading the manuals to understand the game.  The rest of week one was spent brainstorming and doodling ideas, attempting to finalize a concept and strategy.

Week Two: In week two, we determined a robot concept to fit the strategy we wanted to pursue. Began drawing more detailed designs and began prototyping. We also gathered the necessary materials to begin building.

Week Three: We continued and finalized the prototype, and began assembling the base and rails.  Base could not continue to be worked on due to having to wait for ordered parts.

Week Four: Rails were completed during week four, and build team began working on arm. Experimental motor system was compiled.  Base team continued to work on base.

Week Five: Necessary parts for base came in, and base was finalized.  Motor system reworked. Arm was attached to rail system.  Also during week five, we found out our robot could not go over the step in the field, and the base had to be reworked.

Week Six: Pulley system failed, had to be reworked.  Wheels were not attached properly and had to be reattached. Pulley wire broke and had to be replaced multiple times. Found out our robot was massively overweight and had to downsize many elements of our robot.   During week six, we finally brought together the programming and physical bot.  We experimented with the program, and determined who will be driving at competition.  Programming team found out what things they need to rework before competition.  Bag and Tag.
